Hello and welcome to Data Transmission – the new online dance music authority!

To put it simply, Data Transmission is a new online magazine that covers the entire spectrum of dance music – no prejudice, snobbery, or exclusion – with an emphasis on informative, entertaining, content that you won’t find anywhere else. We’ll be breaking hot new artists, giving you the chance to win loads of fantastic prizes every week, telling you about the best parties across the country and the world, and hopefully opening your eyes and ears to a whole heap of damn good music that you didn’t know about before.

In this, our launch issue, we’ve got exclusive features with the likes of Deadmau5, Astrix, Robert Hood, Freeform Five, Manuel Tur, and the full story on the impending closure of Turnmills from the club’s owner, Danny Newman. We’ve also got £1000s of free downloads and competition prizes up for grabs courtesy of DJDownload.com, XL Recordings, Southern Fried Records, ATIC Records, Turnmills, Fabric and Modular Records.

Here’s a quick run-down of what’s what on Data Transmission:

DTMusicbox
If you’re an aspiring producer, this is the place for you. Create yourself a profile on DTMusicbox, start uploading your unsigned tracks, and then watch as Data Transmission users vote on their favourite tracks of the week. The track that receives the most votes at the end of the week will receive the DTMusicbox Track Of The Week accolade and will be sent to our database of over 250,000 people and over 500 labels! Get yourself noticed and get uploading....

News
We’ll be updating our News section throughout the day to keep it as current as possible with news of forthcoming releases, parties, industry news, rumours, scandal and anything else that we think demands your attention. You can also suggest news using the yellow menu on the left-hand side.

Features
We’ll be bringing you exclusive interviews and features on the most exciting artists, parties, festivals, record labels from across the world, and will be tackling the burning issues in the dance music industry. We’ll also have occasional ‘Obsessive’ features, digging deep into the history of your favourite artists, and vitriolic rants from our team of passionate contributors.

New Talent
The place to read about the hottest new artists and acts around. We’ll be featuring people whose music we feel passionate about and who we want to expose to a wider audience – and we’re always open to suggestions. If there’s someone you think we should know about – give us a shot!

Music Reviews
We’ve got an extensive singles and albums review section giving you the story on all the latest single, album and compilation reviews, as well as some highlights of the last few months which you may have missed the first time round. Keep your eyes peeled for occasional guest reviews from big name DJs and producers.

Events
Check out what’s on in your town this weekend and beyond with our easy-to-use events section. This will eventually expand to include international parties and festivals.

Competitions
Fantastic competitions every week, including prizes you won’t get your hands on anywhere else!
