Weekly Transmission 32!

Brrr!

So it seems Summer is over already, August being the wettest August on record, and September being bloody freezing so far rather than its usual warm self...so there's only one solution - get down to your local disco and warm up! The big line-ups are returning all over the country after a bit of a Summer festival hiatus, so there's never been a better time to get stuck into a bit of good old fashioned nightclubbing.

Meanwhile more sad news was announced this week in the closure at the end of January 2009 of The End & AKA - so you best get some dates in there before it's too late!

Our podcast this week comes from Fatboy's fave Cagedbaby - and he's turned in an absolute corker, ripping through rapid-fire banging electro selections in the first half before switching up into chunky, naughty, swinging techno grooves in part 2! Wowzer.

This week we've been talking to German electro techno master Stephan Bodzin about his big passions in life (ahead of his live set at our party with Overload @ Scala London on September 26th), spoke to hard dance's most prolific and revered producer BK about his Nu Wave project, chatted with UK house hotshots Danism, sat in on Mary Anne Hobbs' Generation Bass show at Radio 1, and rounded up the best of the action from South West Four and Get Loaded In The Park. Brighton electro house boys Prok & Fitch got all New Talent on us, while there's news and reviews on Rex The Dog, Sasha, Shapeshifters, Roots Manuva, Danny Howells, Kanye West, Chibuku, Squarepusher, Jamie McHugh, Bootek DJs, Atomic Hooligan, Metronomy, Paul van Dyk, Chris Fortier and loads more....

Plus win VIP tickets for Pacha London, Parklife Festival, Gatecrasher's 15th Birthday, Overload @ Scala and season passes to Warehouse Project Manchester (worth £1000s!) - with a whole load of new competitions coming next week!

'Til then

Metronomy - Heartbreaker

Reviewed By: BenGomori

Heartbreaker is a languid, loose punk-funk-meets-indie-ballad kinda track, and much better than that bizarre description could muster.

A consistently genius-like producer with a none-more-euphoric, life-affirming mofo of a live show, Rex The Dog is long overdue a debut album we feel. Well worth the wait.
