Weekly Transmission 66!

Yes yes y'all,

You best be coming to our Bank Holiday BBQ Party with Lostbahnhof on Bank Holiday Sunday 24th May - a free all-day outdoor celebration of music and meat in Shoreditch, East London. See the news item below for full details.

After you've enjoyed this week's podcast mix of banging techno and synthy melodics from Kris Menace, dig into all our juicy articles - featuring an interview with the Daniel EK, aka one of the men behind the amazing Spotify.

We've got to say that we're loving London at the moment. In the last two weeks we've been to raves in industrial tunnels (Eastern Electrics), at the top of 115-metre-high skyscrapers (Superfreq Especial), to an eclectic multimedia festival organised by teenagers with a killer line-up (Turning Point), witnessed the power of beatbox harmonica (Son Of Dave), witnessed the opening of an immense new venue (T Bar), partied outdoors on a Sunday afternoon (secretsundaze), heard about several new venues and clandestine parties in an East London loft apartment, and tonight we're off to see some cutting-edge DVJing and party in an igloo with 3D projections blasted onto its inside walls. Not to gloat or anything, but it's just very pleasing to see that the UK's dance music powerhouse has got so much exciting stuff going on - and much of it in usual, out-of-the-ordinary venues.

Also check out our shiny new photo section - early days but we're planning on making it a big part of the sight. Email grahame@datatransmission.co.uk if you're interested in taking photos for us and getting yourself on the guestlist for the best clubs and festivals in the world

Yuksek's debut album is out very soon, and is growing on us like a Swine Flu rash - in a good way though. This lead single packs a real punch.

Paul Keeley - Doormatica / Wegel
on : Anjunadeep

'Wegel' is the winner for us here, with Keeley's talent seemingly growing with every release. It's still got his trademark lightness of touch about it, but with a phat, warm bassline.

Claude VonStroke's definitely a good DJ, but his sound doesn't suit every occasion. For homelistening though, his mix of humour and groove works very nicely.
