Weekly Transmission 71!

Festivals ahoy!
The festival season is now fully upon us, with DT heading out to Sonar in Barcelona to take pics of happy gurners, and Glastonbury descending on us next week.

In celebration of the next 3 months of epicness, we've asked 5 of our favourite DJs and producers to give us their Festival Essentials - covering everything from tales of AK47s and bomb threats to rogue freezers and lots and lots of Jägermeister...

And over in the Podcast section this week, Darren Emerson and his Underwater signing Jamie McHugh go back-to-back for an extended techno and acid filth fest. Approach with caution...

Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel 2009

PvD updates his greatest moment for '09, but this watered down, housier interpretation lacks the clout of its predecessor...Activa remix is well worth a listen tho'.

Plastic Little - La La Land

We didn't feel that Plastic Little hype the first time round, but teaming up with Herve on this new single has worked a treat.

It's hard to top Stimming's gorgeous treatment of this classy vocal track, but Ramon Tapia & Butch do mighty well with their excellent versions.

It's a nice trick that Cr2 always seem to pull off on these compilations - carefully balancing commercial appeal with credibility, big tracks with underground underdogs...

Voodeux - The Paranormal
on :Mothership

This collaboration between American producers Tanner Ross and KiloWatts delivers a spooky take on stripped back minimal techno and thereabouts, with the duo very much honing in on a signature sound that should see this album stand out from the crowd.
